How to Draw a Dog? Step-by-Step Tutorial!
Do you want to learn how to draw a dog? We will help you do it! Below you will find a step-by-step guide that will show you how to draw a cute dog. We have divided the entire drawing into 12 easy steps. Do them all in order, and in just a few minutes the same dog will be smiling at you on your sheet of paper. Let’s get to work!

Step 1
Let’s start with the dog’s ears.
They should be quite large and hanging down.

Step 2
Next, draw the lower part of the dog’s head and add some details to the ears you’ve just sketched.

Step 3
Let’s add a nose to the dog so he can explore the beautiful scents!
Draw an almost circular shape near the center of the head, but not perfectly centered.

Step 4
Don’t you think the dog’s face would look better with more detail?
Try drawing two rounded lines to give it some dimension.

Step 5
In the fifth step, draw the dog’s tongue and another line to give the shape of the muzzle.

Step 6
Now let’s add the eyes and eyebrows.
Make sure they’re evenly spaced between the right and left ears.

Step 7
This step is the trickiest, so take a close look at how it’s done.
You’ll need to draw the outline of the dog’s body.
If it’s too hard, don’t hesitate to ask for help.

Step 8
Now it’s time to add the belly and one of the front legs.
Notice how this leg extends a bit lower than the back leg.

Step 9
Two curved lines in this step will form the chest area of your dog.

Step 10
Your dog is starting to look really good!
But he’s still missing a few body parts.
So draw two more paws.

Step 11
For the final touches on the paws, draw small claw details.
This is the second-to-last step — your dog drawing is nearly finished!

Step 12
A drawing of a dog would not be complete without a tail.
Sketch it in the back so your new furry friend can wag it happily!

Your dog drawing is complete! Congratulations!
Maybe you want to draw a doghouse or a food bowl for him?
Your dog will also be happy when you give him a name.
