How to Draw a Dinosaur? Step-by-Step Tutorial!
Let’s start another drawing lesson for kids. Today we will travel back in time millions of years. To a time when our planet was inhabited by completely different creatures than those living today. In this episode, we will teach you step-by-step how to draw a dinosaur! It will be similar to the Diplodocus, which was one of the largest dinosaurs. This will be a truly exciting journey. So let’s go!

Step 1
Are you wondering what this strange scribble is?
It’s actually the outline of our dinosaur’s body!
Try to recreate this shape on your paper as carefully as you can.
This way, the dinosaur’s proportions will look just right.

Step 2
Next, add two short lines — one a bit longer than the other.
These will form the dinosaur’s jaw and a cheerful smile.

Step 3
Now it’s time to add details to the head: an eye and a nostril.
Place the eye toward the back of the head and the nostril closer to the front, but slightly lower.

Step 4
Let’s move on to the back of the dinosaur.
With just two smooth lines, you can create the tail and the powerful back leg.

Step 5
In this step, draw the front leg and connect the remaining parts of the body.
You’re halfway through learning how to draw a dinosaur!
Time has flown by quickly, hasn’t it? But there are still a few steps to go!

Step 6
To make the dinosaur’s legs look more realistic, let’s add some toes.
Draw three toes on each leg.
This step is one of the simpler parts of the drawing.

Step 7
A dinosaur should have four legs, right? So draw the missing ones.
The Diplodocus was one of the largest dinosaurs, so its legs had to support a lot of weight!

Step 8
Since the outer legs are done, let’s give them toes too.
Make them similar to the ones you drew earlier.

Step 9
Many real dinosaurs had spines along their backs, so let’s give our Diplodocus some too.
You don’t have to place them exactly where they are in this drawing — feel free to get creative with their arrangement!

Step 10
Finally, add some spots to the dinosaur’s back for extra detail.
Now your Diplodocus drawing is complete! Great job!

You now know how to draw a dinosaur in just 10 steps!
It was faster and easier than it might seem at first, wan’t it?
Dinosaurs lived on our planet millions of years ago and exploring their world can be a truly fascinating activity.
Drawing and coloring dinosaurs can be great fun and educational at the same time.
